Roetman Signs On With Defenders

(Thursday, November 17, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Leyton Roetman, a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender golf program.  

"We are very excited to have Leyton joining our team. He is a strong player with a passion for golf and an intense desire to compete. We are looking forward to the immediate impact Letyon will have on our program," said Dordt golf coach Jon Crane

Roetman was achieved all-state status in 2022 at the Iowa High School State Meet and was a state qualifier in 2020 and 2021. Roetman shot a nine-hole average of 40.9 in 2022 and improved on his 42.8 average in 2021. 

"I chose Dordt because of the faith focused education and I really liked the campus," said Roetman. 

Leyton is the son of Mike and Alissa Roetman of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to enter the Pre-Legal program at Dordt. 

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).  

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
