Holleman To Join Defender Volleyball

(Monday, December 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) Sara Holleman, a senior at Heritage Christian High School (Illinois), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender volleyball program.

"We are very excited to have Sara join Dordt volleyball. She brings power, athleticism, and versatility as an attacker. I am excited for everything that she will bring to our team," said Dordt head coach Jacki Smith.

Holleman is listed at 6-0 and has played all three hitter positions and setter. She's also played for the Epic Volleyball program.

Sara is the daughter of Mike and Judie Holleman of Beecher, Illinois. She plans to study education at Dordt.

"I chose Dordt, first, because I love the Christ-centered atmosphere, and secondly, because they have an amazing volleyball program. I know lots of people from the surrounding area and have heard nothing but positive things about Dordt. I cannot wait to grow as a daughter in Christ not only through my education but also on the volleyball team," said Holleman.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
