(Monday; December 12; Sioux Center, Iowa) David Chacon, a senior at The Ambrose School (Idaho), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.

"We are excited to have David join our golf team. He is a very intentional player with a high golf IQ. David loves to compete and brings a significant amount of tournament experience with him. We look forward to seeing what he can do at the collegiate level," said Dordt coach Jon Crane

Chacon carries a 74 scoring average and a 75 tournament average.  He's a 2.5 handicap and was the 2021 Branbury Junior Club Champion, tied for 13th at the Idaho Junior Amateur, tied for sixth at the Idaho 2A High School Golf Championship and the 2A District Individual Champion.

"I chose Dordt because of its amazing construction management program and civil engineering program. I also love how personal all the professors can be with their students because the school is smaller. Dordt also has an amazing golf program and head coach Jon Crane was very personal and showed me everything I needed to know about the university," said Chacon.

David is the son of Gil and Dyan Chacon of Meridian, Idaho. He plans to study civil engineering at Dordt.
