A basket with less than four seconds gave the Dordt Defender men's basketball team a 94-93 win over Midland in GPAC play on Saturday afternoon. 
Dordt built a 20-point lead in the first half and was up 55-35 when the break came. Dordt never trailed in the half and scored nine of the last 12 points in the half, including the last five on a 
Lucas Lorenzen three and a 
Camden Bialas two for the advantage.
A 
Bryce Coppock three-point basket kept the lead at 20 with 18:57 left in the contest but the Warriors steadily cut into the difference and got it to 62-52 with 16:45 left in the game on a Jake Orr basket. A three-point play by 
Jacob Vis and a 
Ben Fairclough basket had the lead back at 67-52 but Midland got within single digits with 12:42 left in the game on a Ryan Larsen three-point shot. Midland got as close as 79-74 before Dordt looked like the regained control on a Coppock baseline shot and a 
Luke Rankin three-point play at the 7:05 mark.
Midland rallied again and made it 90-86 after a free throw with 2:04 left in the game. 
Bryce Coppock got a bucket in the paint for a 92-86 Dordt edge with 1:13 left but Midland again answered with a basket. Dordt turned the ball over on the next play and Dominic Humm banked in a three-point shot from straight on for a 92-91 difference. Dordt again had trouble in the back court and turned it over and Orr converted two free throws after he was fouled at the :29 mark.
 
Dordt took the ensuing possession and played it out with 
Luke Rankin hitting a mid-range jumper with less than four seconds left to give the Defenders a 94-93 road win.  Midland mustered a 30-foot attempt at the horn that was offline.
 
THE NUMBERS
	- Jacob Vis led Dordt with 24 points and eight rebounds and two assists.
- Bryce Coppock added 22 points and two assists.
- Cade Bleeker scored 12 and Luke Rankin had 10 points and five assists.
- Lucas Lorenzen added 10 points and eight rebounds and Camden Bialas accounted for eight points.
- Dordt was 35-56 from the field and 8-22 from the arc with 16-20 free throw success.
- Midland had a 36-27 rebounding advantage with 38-73 field goal efficiency and 11-14 free throw success.  The Warriors also made 6-23 three-point shots.
- Bryce Coppock scored his 1000th point on his first basket today and now has 1,020 career points.
	- Dordt is 9-2 overall and 2-2 in the GPAC. Midland is 4-7 overall and 0-5 in the GPAC.
