The Dordt University men's soccer team's match against Bethany Lutheran (Minn.) ended in a scoreless tie this afternoon in Mankato, Minn.
The Defenders head into Wednesday's conference opener against Briar Cliff with a 2-2-2 record; Bethany Lutheran moves to 2-0-2.
Mitchell Dryden made one save against the Vikings for his second shutout of the season. Dryden has given up just two goals in three matches this season (.7 goals against average).
Dordt was unable to convert any of its seven shots on-goal chances;
Blake Hansen led the Defenders with three shots on-goal, followed by
Kaleb Lee with two and both
Tyson Reitsma and
Marco Laenen had one.
Francisco Vilarinho made seven saves for Bethany Lutheran.
The Defenders GPAC opener against Briar Cliff will be on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7:15pm in Sioux Center.
