The Dordt University women's soccer team gave up a pair of second half goals and lost to Midland 2-1 in a conference match played this evening in Fremont, Neb.
The loss drops the Defenders to 1-2-1 in the conference, 4-4-1 overall; Midland improves to 1-1-1 in the GPAC, 3-3-3 overall.
Dordt held a 1-0 lead at halftime and controlled possession for much of the opening 45 minutes.
Avril Baccam netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season during the 20th minute when she received the ball, took a couple of touches at put it past Warriors goalkeeper Hannah Tillison from inside the penalty area.
The Defenders held a 9-6 advantage in overall shots and a 3-1 edge on corner kicks in the first half.
Midland tied the match with just 26 seconds gone by in the second half when Brittany Llanes scored an unassisted goal. The Warriors netted the game-winner during the 63rd minute when Bailey Locano scored off an assist from Emily Ambrose.

Katherine Kooiman (1) and Baccam (1) combined for the Defenders four shots on-goal while
Elianna Van Hulzen made four saves. Van Hulzen's record is now 2-1-1 this season.
Locano led Midland with three shots on-goal and Tillison recorded three saves to earn her second win of the season.
