Jackson To Attend Dordt

(Wednesday, January 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Carlee Jackson, a senior at Sioux City East High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the volleyball program.

"We are happy to have Carlee join our program! We got to know Carlee at our camp and found she's a hard worker and a skilled setter. I look forward to working with her as she develops," said volleyball coach Jacki Smith.

Jackson is a 5-8 setter and averaged five assists per set with two digs per set and ended her career with 680 career assists and 25 digs.  She earned second-team all-conference honors and served as co-captain of her team.

"Through my experience at a Dordt University volleyball camp this past summer, I felt an immediate connection with Coach Smith. I walked in nervous, not knowing anyone and she was there greeting everyone with a welcoming smile. The energy that Coach Smith and Coach Dillon brought to the drills and scrimmages was incredible. Aside from the volleyball aspect of camp, faith was incorporated in every aspect of what we did. Realizing that I could be somewhere I get to play the sport I love and grow as a Christian athlete sounded like a great decision to me," said Jackson.

Carlee is the daughter of Jason and Heather Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa. She plans to study nursing
