The Dordt University men's soccer team lost to Northwestern 1-0 in a conference match played tonight under the lights at the Defender Soccer Complex.Â
A goal by Northwestern midfielder Tim Kaltenberger during the 11th minute proved to be the difference in a match dominated by both teams' defense.Â
Northwestern had the better of the scoring opportunities in the first half, totaling 10 shots compared to three by the Defenders. In the second half, Dordt earned more of the scoring chances (9-2 in shots), including a shot by
Alberto Jimenez that Red Raider goalkeeper Pablo Aspas made a great save on during the 52nd minute.Â

Mitchell Dryden (4-3-1) made eight saves for the Defenders; Aspas stopped six Dordt shots in goal for the Red Raiders.
Dordt will head to Storm Lake, Iowa, on Friday night, Oct.13 for a non-conference match against Buena Vista. Game time is set for 6pm at the J.Leslie Rollins Stadium.
