With Dordt leading 2-0, Northwestern scored its first goal during the 57th minute when Taylor Brennan put a shot in the back of the net on a pass from Julie Dunlap. The Defenders were unable to convert on several chances to add an insurance goal over the next 20 minutes and Northwestern took advantage as Grace Timm netted the equalizer during the 85th minute to tie the match at 2-2.
