The Dordt University women's soccer team lost to 22nd-ranked Hastings 2-0 in a conference match played tonight at Lloyd Wilson Field in Hastings, Neb.Â
The Defenders' seven-match unbeaten streak comes to an end as they drop into a tie for fourth place in the GPAC, along with Morningside, at 6-3-2 in the GPAC, 9-5-2 overall. With tonight's win, Hastings wins the GPAC regular season title with a 9-1-2 record (29 points).Â
Scoreless until the 38th minute, Hastings broke through with a goal by Dekota Schubert off an assist from Megan Lampe for a 1-0 lead. The Broncos scored again, five minutes later, on an unassisted goal by Sophia Lee.Â
The teams were scoreless over the final 45 minutes of play.
