The Defenders finished out their regular season with a 6-1 win over the Waldorf Warriors this Saturday in the ASB Sports Complex.
The Defenders got off to a shaky start as the Warriors scored in just the 4th minute. Gabby Bauman scored her third of the year and it seemed like this game would be a grind for both teams. Joslyn Terpstra tied it up a few minutes later in the 10th minute off a pass from Karinna Tel and the Defenders never looked back.
Karinna Tel scored the second goal to take the lead off a pass from Joslyn Terpstra where she dribbled through multiple Waldorf Defenders and finished past Warriors goalkeeper, Samantha Linteo, in the 18th minute.
Ashlyn Marjama got in on the scoring off a corner kick taken by Tel where she floated to the back post and finished it with her head to net the third goal of the game for the Defenders in the 25th minute.
About a minute later, Abby Foster scored off a corner as well after she poked the ball through a crowd of Waldorf defenders to go up 4-1.
Eliza Evans scored in the 38th minute for her first goal of the season and the third of her Dordt career. Evans was assisted by Madison Bachar. The Defenders would take a massive 5-1 lead into the break.
Ellie Stuart put in the sixth and final goal of the game for the Defenders off a cross from Abby Worthy that went off the back post and left Stuart with an empty net in front of her.
