HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders secured a 2-0 GPAC men's soccer win on Wednesday night, October 4 in Sioux Center over the Mount Marty Lancers.
Neither team had many chances early with Dordt finally breaking through with a goal by
Kaleb Lee off an assist by
Ethan Knott in the 35
th minute.Â
The 1-0 lead held up until the 63
rd minute when
Robin Grewohl trickled a free kick past the goalkeeper and give Dordt the eventual 2-0 win.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt had an 8-5 shots on goal advantage.
- The Defenders had a 12-2 corner kick edge.
- Mitch Dryden recorded the shutout in goal with five saves.
- Lee's goal was his fourth of the season and Grewohl's was his first.
Dordt is 6-4-1 overall and 3-2 in league play while Mount Marty is 0-4-1 in the league and 1-5-3 overall.
