Dordt defeats Dakota State 90-54
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender women's basketball team was never challenged in its season opener against Dakota State on Wednesday, November 1 in a game played at The Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dordt scored the first six points and 19 of the first 22 in winning 90-54 in a game matching the last two national runners-up.Â
Dordt led 27-6 after one quarter and 46-20 at halftime. The lead grew to 69-35 after three quarters and the Defenders outscored the Lady Ts 21-19 in the fourth quarter of play.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt was 34-75 from the field and 9-19 from the arc for 45 and 47 percent respectively.
- Dakota State was 20-67 from the field and 3-23 from the three-point line. The Lady Ts were 1-17 to start the game from long range.
- Dordt had a 56-40 rebounding edge and forced 25 turnovers while committing 20.
