The Dordt Defenders finished out their series against the Marian Sabres with a commanding 14-2 win this afternoon in the Vernon Arena in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Defenders scored double-digit goals for the third time this season. Noah Wilmes broke the scoreless tie just two minutes into the game. The Defenders won a face-off and Andrew Benson took a quick shot that rebounded off the boards to a waiting WIlmes that put the puck in at the near post.
Not too much later, Isaac Baart scored the second of the game. Baart found himself with a lot of time after a few shots got knocked around near the crease and casually put it in.Â
Mason Carrels scored the third goal of the game off a pass from Griffin Lennes.
Isaac Bedwell scored the fourth goal of the game for the Defenders with 6:17 left in the first period off a feed from Nathan Lorenze.
Ryler Schelle scored the fifth goal of the afternoon unassisted on a breakaway that he slotted past goalie, Amanda Sincere.Â
Marian's Nick Paul would score with 59 seconds left, assisted by Roenick Vosburg. The Defenders would lead at the break 5-1.
Alex Espenson would score with 16:07 left in the second period to make the score 6-1.
Griffin Lennes found the back of the net a few minutes later with 14:28 left, assisted by Andrew Benson.
Zach Espenson scored another one for the Defenders with 12:02 left in the second period.
Mason Carrels scored his second of the game and the ninth for the Defenders late in the second period off a pass from Lucas Van Berkel.
Andrew Benson scored the 10th goal of the afternoon for the Defenders off passes from Ryler Schelle and Griffin Lennes.
Jonah Weems added another with 1:49 just before the second intermission off of passes from Alex Espenson and Taylor De Jager.
Jonah Weems would put another one in at the beginning of the third period with 14:20 remaining in the game.Â
The Sabres would get another one with 16:06 left in the game off a goal from Robert White. However, Weems would secure the hat trick just a few minutes later after recieving passes from Isaac Baart and Taylro De Jager.
Ryler Schelle would score his second and final goal of the night with 10:58 left. Schelle was assisted by Griffin Lennes and Taylor De Jager.

- Charlie Lang came away with 24 saves on 26 shots (0.923 SV%) and improves to 4-0-0 on the season
- Amanda Sincere would leave the game at the start of the third period with 44 saves on 55 shots (0.800 SV%)
- Noah Banes would finish the game with16 saves on 19 shots (0.842)
Dordt's record improves to 12-3-0 and are on a nine-game win streak. They sit atop of their division and will play their final home games on December 1 and 2 against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
