Morningside defeats Dordt 103-88
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender men's basketball team lost a 103-88 decision to Morningside on Tuesday night, November 21 in Sioux City, Iowa.Â
The Defenders started quickly and built a 28-19 lead after
Lucas Lorenzen converted a three-point play with 11:10 left in the half. Morningside scored the next seven points and eventually tied the game at 31-31 and took the lead with a three-point basket with 5:32 left in the half. Dordt briefly took the lead back at 44-42 on another Lorenzen basket, this one a three-point shot but Morningside lead 48-46 at the intermission.Â
The Defenders got a three-point basket by
Bryce Coppock and a pair of Lorenzen baskets helped Dordt to a 54-52 lead and it was still tied at 56-56 after
Luke Rankin made two free throws. Coppock added a jump shot at the 15:04 mark to get Dordt within 59-58 but the Mustangs ran off the next 15 points for a 74-58 lead and Dordt got no closer than 10 the rest of the game and fell by the 103-88 margin.Â

- Morningside had a 39-38 rebounding edge and Dordt had 11 turnovers to seven for the Mustangs.Â

- Bryce Coppock scored 26 and had eight rebounds while converting 4-8 three-point baskets.Â
