Defenders Break Century Barrier For Second Time, Sweep Arizona Games

Dordt defeats Embry Riddle 101-83

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Dordt Defenders used a 31-10 run to start the second half and took control of their game with Embry Riddle in Prescott, Arizona and went on to win a 101-83 final decision that wasn't that close.

Dordt took the lead for good on a Connor Millikan three-point basket with 16:49 left in the first half at 12-10 and the lead grew to 47-29 on a Ty Van Essen basket. Dordt eventually settled for a 53-40 halftime edge after Embry Riddle put together a 7-0 run.

Dordt started the second half with an 8-0 run and outscored the Eagles 31-10 in the first ten minutes of the second half. Dordt biggest lead was 84-50 and played the final 10 minutes with the game no longer in doubt.

  • Dordt made 39-69 field goals and 10-21 three-point baskets with a 36-34 rebounding edge.
  • Embry Riddle was 34-77 from the field and 7-26 from the arc.

      • Lucas Lorenzen was 9-13 from the field and 3-6 from the three-point line for 22 points and he had 10 rebounds with three assists.  
      • Luke Rankin was 7-8 from the floor ended with 17 points and seven assists.
      • Jackson Louscher was 7-7 from the field and scored a season high 16 points and Connor Milikan added 13 points and was 3-6 from the three-point line.
      • Bryce Coppock added 11 points and Ty Van Essen had seven.

      • Dennis Pomazanov had 23 points and eight rebounds and Christmas Togiai scored 20.
  •     Dordt is now 11-4 while Embry Riddle is 1-9 overall.
