Dordt def. Jamestown 92-79
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender men's basketball team used a 55 percent second half shooting performance to turn away Jamestown 92-79 on Wednesday night in Jamestown, North Dakota.
Jamestown never trailed early and built a 34-25 lead with 6:25 left in the half before Dordt outscored the hosts 16-7 to tie the game at 41-41 at the break. Dordt crawled back into the contest with an 8-0 run capped by a pair of
Lucas Lorenzen free throws. Â Dordt eventually took its first lead with a
Luke Rankin basket at the 2:13 mark for a 37-36 edge and
Bryce Coppock's basket near the end of the half tied the game at 41-41.
Back to back baskets by Lorenzen to start the second half put Dordt up for good although Jamestown fought back from an eight point difference to within 52-51 but Lorenzen converted a three-point basket and Rankin buried a three at the 13:07 mark for a 58-51 advantage. Dordt led by double-digits for the next six minutes but Jamestown cut the lead down to 78-74 with 3:43 left in the game. Coppock got a timely three for an 81-74 lead and
Dordt maintained a multiple possession advantage the rest of the way.

- Dordt was 32-64 from the field and made 17-31 field goals in the second half. The Defenders converted 20-26 free throws.
