GAME 1 VS ROOSEVELT
A seven run second inning propelled Roosevelt to a 16-9 win over the Defenders on Friday afternoon in Florida. The Defenders got on the board with four in the first inning with
Dylan Stanley,
Logan De Vries and
Ethan Hoogesteger all singling in runs. Roosevelt got two back in the bottom of the inning and Dordt again scored two run to lead 6-2. From there Roosevelt scored seven in the bottom of the second and another four in the third to get up 13-6.
Dordt answered with a run each in the fourth and fifth, getting a run on
Juan Sanchez sacrifice fly in the fourth and Sanchez singled in two runs in the fifth but that's as close as they got in falling 16-9.

GAME 2 VS ROOSEVELT
The Dordt Defenders came front behind to force extra innings but were unable to upend Roosevelt in game two of their doubleheader on Friday in Florida. The Defenders got a three-run homerun by
Anthony Rodriguez in the second and a grand slam by
Kaden Davis in the third for a 7-3 lead. Roosevelt responded with five unanswered runs to lead 8-7.
In the bottom of the fifth
Juan Sanchez singled in a run to tie the game and the teams were scoreless until the eighth inning when a three-run homerun by Roosevelt capped a five-run frame for a 13-8 lead in the extra inning. Dordt countered with two in the eighth when
Jason Carrig and Davis each produced a rbi to make the final 13-10.
