RECENTLY

Dordt split two games with Benedictine on February 25 with a 5-3 loss in game on and a 5-2 in game two. In the 5-3 loss the Defenders allowed three in the fifth and one in the sixth to surrender a 3-1 lead. Dylan Stanley had three hits and a run batted in and Nick Yeager absorbed his first loss of the year and went four and a third innings while striking out nine and allowing three earned runs. In the second game a pair of Dordt homeruns spearheaded the win with Logan DeVries knocking a two-run homerun in the fourth and Dylan Stanley had a solo homerun to unlock a 2-2 tie. DeVries had a double and homerun and Gyeongju Kim pitched six and two-third innings and got the win with nine strikeouts and five hits surrendered.

Cornerstone played Trinity Baptist on Saturday, March 4 and secured a 9-1 and 3-2 sweep.  In the first game Cornerstone had an 11-5 hits advantage and Dylan Vanden Berg  had five hits allowed with two strikeouts while getting the win. In the second game both teams had five hits and no one had multiple hits. Ben Cunningham got the win in relief with four innings pitched and he struck out two.

THE SERIES

The Defenders have split the two meetings with Cornerstone since 2017-18 and those games were played last year in Florida. Dordt won a 9-1 contest and Cornerstone secured a 7-2 win in game two.
