The Concordia Bulldogs swept the Dordt Defender baseball team in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 8 in Seward, Nebraska by scores of 18-1 and 13-3.
GAME 1
Concordia scored four in the second before Dordt's
Trevor Jackson doubled in Dylan Stanely in the top of the fourth.
Concordia answered with a run in the bottom of the inning and then plated two in the fifth and 11 in the sixth for the 18-1 final
THE NUMBERS
Dordt was outhit 16-5.
Five different players had one hit each with
Jason Carrig and Jackson each getting a double.
Nick Yeager started the game and went five and a third and took the loss with seven strikeouts and 11 hits surrendered.
GAME 2
A steady diet of early runs led to a 13-3 win for Concordia as the hosts scored two in the first, one in the second and two in the third before Dordt got on the board.
Dordt countered with a pair of homeruns in the second as Dylan Stanely and
Anthony Rodriguez both had solo homeruns. Concordia then got three in the fourth, single runs in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.Â
Dordt's
Drew Oreskes singled in
Jason Carrig in the top of the eighth and Concordia ended it with two in the eighth inning for a ten-run rule shortened game.
THE NUMBERS
Jason Carrig had two hits while Stanley's and Rodriguez's homeruns were the only extra base hits of the game for Dordt.
Dordt was outhit 14-7.
Chaz Gothard pitched three and two-third innings and struck out five with two walks and 10 hits allowed

Dordt is now 14-18 overall and Concordia is 25-11.
