HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender women's basketball team secured a 42-point win over the College of Saint Mary Flames in Omaha, Nebraska to improve to 13-1 this season.
Dordt never trailed and scored the first five points of the game and
Faith Van Holland knocked down back to back three-point shots after the Flames got on the board. Dordt took a 23-13 lead into the quarter break and the hosts converted a basket to start the second quarter.
Dordt's answer was swift with
Janie Schoonhoven and
Bailey Beckman converting back to back baskets and the two combined for nine straight points before the Flames scored again at the 6:05 mark of the period.
The Defenders continued to expand the lead and had a 46-21 advantage at halftime. Dordt extended the lead with a 24-7 advantage in the third quarter and the teams played to a 15-15 tie in the fourth quarter with
Taylor Drent scoring all eight of her points in the final quarter.

- Dordt was 37-73 from the field and 8-25 from the three-point line.
