The Dordt Defender men's golf team is in seventh place after day one of the Battle At the Dance in Windsor, Colorado. The event is hosted by Hastings College and is being played at Raindance Golf Course. The teams were scheduled to play 36-holes on day one but play was halted with between four and six holes remaining for the teams.
Dordt shot 39 over par in the first round and had improved on that score in round two with a 17 over par score.
David Chacon and
Caden Koole are leading the Defenders with a 78 in round one and he is currently 10 over though the 13
th hole of his second round.
Caden Koole is 11 over through 12 holes in the second round and had a 79 in the first round. Chacon is tied for 21
st and Koole is 25
th in the 56 golfer field.
Midland's Ben Ngelingkong and Hastings's Gabe Escalera lead the field with a four-under through 13 holes. Escalera had a 67 in the first round.
Rocky Mountain College is five over and leads the team race by 10 strokes over Hastings and Northwestern.
The teams will conclude play on Tuesday with 18 holes plus the remainder of round two on the schedule.
