The Dordt University women's soccer team lost to Briar Cliff 2-0 in a GPAC match played this afternoon on Faber Field in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Defenders fall to 5-2-1 in the GPAC, 9-3-1 overall, and remain in second place in the current GPAC standings with three matches left in the regular season. The surging Chargers extend their win streak to four and move into a tie with College of Saint Mary (Neb.) for third place in the conference at 4-3-1 (GPAC), 4-7-2 overall.
How It Happened:
- scoreless until the fourth minute, Briar Cliff netted the game-winner on an unassisted goal by Addison Frisch, her second of the season.
- the match was played even for the rest of the half, leading to a 1-0 Chargers lead at intermission
- both team had scoring chances over the first 20 minutes of the second half
- the Chargers scored their final goal at the 85th minute on a shot by Eyrun Vala Hardardot (4) with an assist from Sydney Robbins (1)
