The Dordt Defender men's golf team shot a 310 on day one of the Mustang Derby at Whispering Creek Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa on Monday, October 7. The teams will play 18 holes on Tuesday to conclude the event.

The Defenders are two strokes out of eighth place and only 10 strokes out of second place in the tightly compacted field. Morningside leads the event with a 291.

Dordt's Caden Koole is tied for 15^th and leads the Defenders with a 75 and David Chacon shot a 77 and is tied for 26^th in the 64 golfer field. Gehrig Geiss shot a 70 to lead Jamestown and the field by a stroke and eight golfers shot par or better.
