The Defenders lost a 3-0 decision against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa on Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt entered the break with a 5-3 shot advantage including a shot on goal by
Phil Appelt in the 19th minute but neither team was able to get on the scoreboard. The score would be 0-0 after 45 minutes of play.
Morningside started the second half quickly with a goal in the 50th minute scored by Niklas Kneller that would prove to be the game winner. The Mustangs used that momentum to score an insurance goal a minute later by Max Sickenberger.
Kneller secured the brace with a 67th minute goal.

- Morningside took 15 shots, eight on goal

- This is Morningside's fourth shutout of the year
Dordt's record falls to 5-4-3 overall and 3-1-2 in GPAC play. Dordt has 11 points and is tied for first in the conference with Hastings. Dordt's next game will be on Saturday, October 12 against No. 8 Bellevue in their final non-conference game the year. The game will be in Bellevue, Neb. and kick off is scheduled for 7:15 pm.
