Second Half Lifts Mustangs Past Defenders

The Defenders lost a 3-0 decision against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt entered the break with a 5-3 shot advantage including a shot on goal by Phil Appelt in the 19th minute but neither team was able to get on the scoreboard. The score would be 0-0 after 45 minutes of play.

Morningside started the second half quickly with a goal in the 50th minute scored by Niklas Kneller that would prove to be the game winner. The Mustangs used that momentum to score an insurance goal a minute later by Max Sickenberger.

Kneller secured the brace with a 67th minute goal.
