Dordt used a 15-0 run in the first half  to take control and won an 82-72 decision from Luther (Iowa) in non-conference basketball on Friday night in Sioux Center.
Dordt jumped out to an 11-3 lead with
Lucas Lorenzen knocking down two of his six three-pointers to start the game and
Ty Van Essen had a putback and a three-point shot to end the sequence.
Luther regrouped and took a 19-15 lead with 11:13 left in the half. Van Essen and
Connor Millikan had baskets to tie the game and Dordt added 11 more to the run and held Luther without a point for over six minutes. Dordt ended up taking a 38-29 halftime lead with
Ty Van Essen capping a nine-point first half with a basket.
Dordt outscored Luther 17-6 in the first six minutes of the second half to lead 55-35 as
Ben Fairclough scored a basket with 13:55 left in the game for Dordt's largest lead of the night. The Norse regrouped and trimmed into the lead with a 19-10 run with 7:22 left but the Norse never got closer than until a basket with 1:06 left made the final 82-72.
