(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Jarrett Herz, a senior at Gallatin High School (Montana), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.
"Jarrett brings some great tools to add depth and competitiveness to our middle infield. We are excited to welcome him to Defender Baseball," said Dordt baseball coach Ian Eshelman.
Herz is an infielder and had a .316 batting average in 2024 with 59 hits and 31 stolen bases.
"I chose Dordt because of the potential to play baseball at the next level and receive a great education. I'm also grateful I get to attend a Christian school to continue to grow in my faith," said Herz.
Jarrett is the son of Jon and Sarah Herz of Gallatin, Montana and plans to study business administration.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
