(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Evan Wood, a senior at St. Croix Lutheran Academy (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the golf program.  

Wood carries a 74 average and is a three-time all-conference pick and was the conference's golfer of the year in 2024 and qualified for the state tournament.   He was a part of conference championship teams in 2022 and 2024.  

"I'm attending Dordt because I felt it was the best choice for me academically, physically and spiritually," said Wood.  

Evan is the son of Dustin and Lindsay Wood of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.  He plans to study graphic design.   

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).     

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
