Golf | Deacon Branderhorst Commit

(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Deacon Branderhorst, a senior at Pella Christian (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.  

Branderhorst won an individual conference championship as a junior and tied for second at the district meet with a 72.  He shot a 73 at the state championship and tied for fifth place overall and Pella Christian was the team runner-up.  

"I desire to attend Dordt due the excellence in academics and faith integration. I am also excited to be able to continue my athletic career by becoming a member of the golf team," said Branderhorst.  

Deacon is the son of Dan and Amy Branderhorst of Pella, Iowa.  He plans to study business.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).     

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
