HOW IT HAPPENED
The Briar Cliff Chargers took advantage of an eight run third inning to secure an 18-2 win over the Dordt Defenders on Thursday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The game was played in cold, windy conditions and the Chargers took advantage of 11 unearned runs in the game.
Dordt's two runs came on a
Josh Tiersma single in the fifth inning that scored Kaden Dean and
Logan Harris came around to score from second base on a wild pitch.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Defenders battled but relinquished a lead in the sixth inning and fell 14-9 to Briar Cliff in game two of the doubleheader in Sioux Center.
Briar Cliff grabbed a 2-0 lead before Dordt tied the game in the home half of the second with a run off an error and a bases loaded walk to tie it 2-2.
Phoenix West was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and
Logan Harris's single put Dordt up 5-2. A
Dylan Stanley single extended the lead to 6-2.
The teams traded a run each in the third and in the fourth Briar Cliff scored twice to get within 7-5 and Stanley got one of the runs back with a sacrifice fly in the fourth for an 8-5 lead.
The three run lead held until the sixth when Briar Cliff scored five in the top of the inning.
Jason Carrig's single on a bunt in the home half of the inning made it 11-9 and Briar Cliff added three runs in the seventh to make the final 14-9.

- Adam McClanahan was the starter for Dordt and went three innings and struck out two.

Dordt is scheduled to play Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, March 23 but that game will not be played as scheduled—a new date has yet to be determined. Dordt is scheduled to host Concordia on Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30.
