GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt scored six in the third inning to bounce back from a 5-0 deficit to win 7-6 in game one against the Jamestown Jimmies.
Jamestown scored two in the second on a double and then added three more runs on a two-out homerun. Dordt got back in it with an
Aurora Tyson sacrifice fly in the third inning and
Chloe Kreuz clubbed a double to the rightfield corner to make it 5-3. Kreuz later scored on a double and
Emma Groen got a single to tie the game. Dordt took the lead with a Brooklyn Cox single that pushed
Brynn Torrenga in before the inning came to a close.Â
Dordt added to the lead with a run in the fourth as
Lauren Steenstra's single pushed
Karli Olsen across. Jamestown had a solo homerun in the fifth inning and Dordt tried to answer but had a runner thrown out at home in the sixth inning with two outs trying to advance on a wild pitch.   Jamestown got a single in the seventh inning but stranded the runner at second with a lineout to shortstop ending the game.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt had a 10-9 hits advantage and took advantage of three errors.
- Kreuz was 2-4 with a run batted in and a single and double.
- Brynn Torrenga and Brooklynn Cox each had two hits and Steenstra had the only other extra base hit for Dordt.
- Kreuz had six runs and nine hits with three walks and four strikeouts to improve to 7-5 this season.
GAME 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt jumped out to a first inning lead and won 7-4.Â
Aurora Tyson knocked in a run with a ground out and
Lauren Steenstra double din two runs to make it 3-0. Jamestown had an answer to make it 3-2 with a pair of two-out runs in the third inning. Kreuz answered with a single that scored Tyson and the 4-2 lead held until the sixth when Jamestown tied it.
Dordt didn't waste any time and reestablished the lead with a bases loaded double by Steenstra that cleared the bases and gave Dordt a 7-4 that ended up being the final when
Hailey Wilken retired Jamestown in order.
THE NUMBERS
- Jamestown had a 7-6 hits advantage.
- Kreuz and Steenstra both had two hits and Steenstra knocked in five runs.
- Jadyn Faber got the win for her fifth win in as many decisions with three innings of relief and walked three with three hits allowed.
- Hailey Wilken got the save working perfect inning.
- Dordt is now 15-14 overall and 2-0 in the GPAC and Jamestown is 18-7 overall and 4-2 in the league.
