(Wednesday, April 10; Sioux Center, Iowa) Julia Haack, a senior at Tea Area High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
Haack is a 5-9 outside hitter and defensive specialist who had 295 career kills with 149 digs and 42 blocks. She was named most improved and won the Tea Area Titan Award and played for Club Central.
"I chose to attend Dordt for the Christian environment, amazing agricultural organization, and outstanding volleyball and music programs. On my visit I instantly fell in love with the people and culture of the campus along with how everything at the college is still growing to accommodate the immense amount of people who see their futures at Dordt," said Haack.
Julia is the daughter of Bonnie and Roger Haack from Lennox, South Dakota. She plans to study plant science.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
