GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Morningside Mustangs made the most of six hits in defeating Dordt 4-0 in game one of their doubleheader on Saturday, April 20 in Sioux City.
Morningside got one in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth while limiting Dordt to one hit.
Dordt had a base runner in the first and fourth innings by virtue of a walk and a hit batsman with
Jason Carrig recording Dordt's first hit with a single in the fifth inning. An error on the play allowed him to reach second and after a walk Dordt's threat ended with a strikeout and fly out to keep the score 1-0.
Dordt didn't threaten in the last two innings and was retired in order over the final six outs. Â
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt's lone hit was Jason Carrig's single.
- Chaz Gothard went five and two-third  innings and had two strikeouts with four runs allowed on six hits.
GAME 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
Morningside scored six in the first inning and Dordt had single runs in the third, sixth and seventh innings of a 13-3 decision in Sioux City.
The Mustangs scored the six runs on a combination of five hits, two errors and a sacrifice bunt.
Dordt's
Carson Belcher had a solo homerun to lead off the third and after six runs by the Mustangs Dordt scored one in the sixth when Belcher singled in
Kayden Dean. Dordt got one more in the seventh when Nathan Eliason scored on a passed ball and Morningside ended the game with a run in the seventh inning.
THE NUMBERS
- Dordt had seven hits with Carson Belcher and Drew Oreskes each producing two hits.
- Oreskes's double Belcher's homerun were Dordt's lone extra base hits.
- Ty Neugebauer was Dordt's most effective pitcher with two and a third innings of work while allowing one hit and no runs.

Dordt will play Midland in Fremont on Friday, April 26 and will host the Warriors in the season finale on Saturday, April 27.
