(Friday, May 7; Sioux Center, Iowa) Christopher Janssen, a student at Unity Christian (British Columbia), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender hockey program.
"Christopher is going to be a massive asset to our program. As a hockey player, he is going to bolster our defensive group in a great way. More importantly, he will be a fantastic addition off the ice as he is an incredible young man with the right vision for what he wants to accomplish at Dordt," said Dordt coach Tyler Morgan.
Janssen is a 6-7, 200 pound defenseman who competed for Chilliwack Minor Hockey.
"I chose Dordt because I wanted to go to a place where I could get a great education while playing hockey," said Janssen. "When I visited Dordt I felt it was a Christian community where I could grow."
Christopher is the son of Jeff and Irene Janssen of Chilliwack, British Columbia. He plans to study engineering.
