The Dordt Defenders dropped a 2-0 decision to Trinity (Ill.) on Thursday afternoon in Palos Heights, Illinois. This is the Defender's first loss this season as their record falls to 0-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt found themselves in an early hole as Trinity scored just five minutes into the game. Goalkeeper, Mitchell Dryden collided with a Dordt defender which allowed Trinity Midfielder, Ismael Aguero, to net the first goal of the contest and of his 2024 season. Trinity controlled much of the possession throughout the first half as the Defenders were only able to put one shot on goal that was saved by Trolls' keeper, Giogos Christoduolo. 

Dordt was able to create a few chances late in the game but were unable to put anything on goal. Their best chance came off a free kick just outside of the penalty area. Phil Appelt lined up to take it but sent it just over the bar. Trinity secured the win with a late goal int he 88th minute on a counter attack that was initially saved by Dryden but found its way to the back post for their second goal of the game.
