The Dordt Defender golf teams improved their scores by a combined 44 strokes between the two units and finished tied for eighth and 11
th respectively in the Mount Marty Classic hosted by the Lancers on Monday and Tuesday, August 26 and 27.
The teams shot 289 and 302 respectively while Doane shot a 284 for the best second day total. Morningside won the 36-hole event with a 296-285=581 while Northeast Community College and Doane each shot 582 over the two days to finish second.

Dordt's first finisher went 315-289=604 and was one stroke behind Dakota Wesleyan in the final standings and three strokes behind a team from Morningside. Dordt's second finisher shot a 320-302=622 and was five strokes behind 10
th place finishing Briar Cliff.
Dordt "A" was led by
Caleb Douma and
Cole Feenstra on the second day with a pair of 70s. Douma and Feenstra both had four birdies and 12 pars on the way to their scores.
Carter Wilken shot a 73 to go with his 76 from the first day and
Austin Faber shot a 76 to wrap up the Dordt "A" scoring.
Leyton Roetman had a 73 for the Dordt "B" which was a 10 stroke improvement from day one and
Caden Koole had a 75 to go with his 72 from day one as well.
Northeast's Luke Bonser shot a 70-67=137 to win individual medalist honors by three strokes. 87 golfers and 15 teams made up the field.

Dordt will play in the Blue River Classic on September 4 and 5 hosted by Doane in its next action.
