The Dordt hockey team won a 4-3 decision over the Washington University Bears on Friday night in Hazelwood, Mo. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt got on the scoreboard first as Isaac Baart netted his first goal of the season. Baart was assisted by Alex Espenson and Mason Spejcher.

Dordt's second goal was scored by Alex Espenson and was assisted by Griffin Lennes and Andrew Benson.

Mason Spejcher scored his first career goal and the third of the game for the Defenders. Spejcher was assisted by Reuben Horneman. This is Horneman's first assist of his career.

Dordt got a much needed insurance goal in the third period scored by Alex Espenson, assisted by Isaac Baart and Brady Espenson.

Washington put in three goals but were unable to mount a comeback.

FINAL SCORE: Dordt 4-3

Dordt's next game will be tomorrow, September 21, against Washington at 2 pm.
