The Dordt Defender men's basketball won its fourth game in a row with a convincing 89-68 win over Midland in Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon, January 18.

The Defenders overcame a slow start to manage a double-digit lead at halftime and were not seriously challenged in the second half as a pair of double-digit runs put the game out of reach.
Dordt was down 17-10 with seven minutes gone in the first half after a Jake Orr layup, from there, the Defenders rallied.
Ty Van Essen got a pair of free throws to stop the bleeding and
Jake Proctor's three-point shot cut the gap to 17-15. Midland scored on back-to-back possessions to re-establish a six point advantage. Dordt managed to outscore 29-13 over the final ten minutes to lead 45-34 at halftime.
Midland scored the first four points of the second half to get withing 45-38 but Dordt answered with a 10-2 run and pushed the lead to 20 with a 10-0 run that ended with a
Lucas Lorenzen three-point play. After a Midland basket Dordt went on an 11-0 run over the next 3:30 and the outcome was no longer in doubt as the Defenders led by as many as 29 in the final five minutes before settling for the 21-point win.
Dordt is now 19-1 overall and 11-1 in the GPAC.
Midland is 9-11 overall and 4-8 in the league.
Dordt will host Briar Cliff on Wednesday, January 22.
