The opening set featured nine ties and four lead changes before the Defenders surged ahead midway through the frame. A string of kills from
Laney Wolfswinkel and
Haley Kuperus turned an 8–8 tie into a multi-point cushion. Wolfswinkel finished the set with several powerful swings on the outside, while Kuperus connected for three kills down the stretch to close out the 25–19 win.
Set two was another back-and-forth battle, with Dordt rallying from a 9–4 deficit after a timeout. The Defenders responded with a 6–1 run behind aggressive serving and quick transitions, punctuated by kills from Kuperus, Wolfswinkel, and
Myra Carlson. A pair of
Carlee Jackson service aces late in the frame helped Dordt seize control before
Ellie Dokter's kill secured the 25–22 result.
In the third, Dordt raced out to an early 6–2 advantage with Carlson and Kuperus providing a spark at the net. Wolfswinkel continued her strong play with five kills in the final set, including the winner off a Jackson assist to finish the sweep.
