The Dordt University women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak in conference play with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the College of Saint Mary (Neb.) on Saturday afternoon at the Defender Soccer Complex.
Junior forward
Joslyn Terpstra netted the game's lone goal in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a rebound off a hard shot by
Karinna Tel that deflected off CSM goalkeeper Jenna Brown.
Dordt (5-3-2, 4-0-1 GPAC) controlled possession and tempo throughout, outshooting the Flames 18-10, including a 14-6 advantage in shots on goal. Tel led the offensive charge with eight shots, five of which were on target, while Terpstra added five shots and four on goal.
Goalkeeper
Lydia Zylstra (5-3-2) anchored the defense with six saves, earning her fourth shutout of the season. The back line, led by
Hayden Jennett,
Lameese Batarseh,
Katie Schaupp and
Abby Worthy, held firm against a late push from College of Saint Mary (3-9, 2-3 GPAC), who managed seven second-half shots but couldn't find the equalizer.
