HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt struck first when Karinna Tel scored an unassisted goal in the 17th minute (16:23) — her GPAC-leading 17th goal of the season — to give the Defenders a 1–0 advantage.
Morningside answered quickly, tying the match at 20:36 on a goal from Trinay Garcia , assisted by Keyera Harmon .
Defenders goalkeeper Lydia Zylstra made several key stops in the opening half, recording four saves to keep the match even at 1–1 heading into the break.
The Mustangs took control after halftime. Harmon put Morningside in front 2–1 with a goal in the 58th minute (57:24), and Tuva Hammarlund extended the lead to 3–1 with a penalty kick goal in the 71st minute (70:47).
Zylstra (5-4-2) finished with five saves for Dordt, while Moria Dixson (6-1-1) tallied five saves in goal for Morningside..
