The Dordt University women's golf team completed the final round at the two-day, 36-hole Mustang Derby, held at the Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa. The event was hosted by Morningside University.Â
The Defenders dropped a spot from its position in the standings after day one and finished tied for sixth overall after today's final 18-holes. Dordt shot a 361 today for a 36-hole total of 710 (349/361) which tied Mount Marty.
Morningside, the host team, won the two-day meet with a 621 (314/307), followed by Dakota Wesleyan and Iowa Western Community College.
Jillian Eidsness was the lone Dordt golfer to finish among the top 20, tying for 11th place with a 36-hole total of 165 (80/85).
Katherine Beekman shot a final round 87, a five-stroke improvement from day one, and placed 27th overall with a 179.
Hope Faber (30th - 183) and
Ollie Large (41st - 206) also placed for the Defenders and played both days.
Samantha Wilbur carded a 98 today after not playing on day one.
Allison Meyerink (DWU) shot a final round of 72 and took home medalist honors with a 150, one stroke in front of the Morningside duo, Lucy Brown and Ivanna Becerra-Diaz.
