The Defenders trailed early after the Lancers opened with a 10–6 edge, but Dordt closed the first quarter on a 10-4 run to move in front 16–10. That momentum carried into the second quarter, where Dordt pieced together the largest surge of the first half with a 17-5 stretch fueled by transition baskets, offensive rebounding, and three-point shooting. By halftime, the Defenders held a 41–19 advantage after outscoring the Lancers 25–9 in the second period.
Dordt kept its foot down in the third quarter, producing another decisive push. A 20-9 run in the heart of the period widened the lead to more than 30 points, highlighted by efficient inside scoring and perimeter rhythm. Dordt scored 26 in the quarter, ultimately building a game-high 35-point lead at the 0:48 mark of the third.
Mount Marty found more offense in the final quarter, putting up 23 fourth-quarter points, but the Defenders never allowed the margin to shrink meaningfully. Dordt held steady, closed out possessions, and cruised to the 24-point victory to remain unbeaten at 5–0.
