 The last reported game for Lewis was an 8-3 loss to Illinois State on October 18. Lewis had it down to 6-3 at the start of the third period and Illinois State had a 49-17 shots advantage.

Dordt won a road game at Missouri State on November 8, 6-4. Dordt had a 54-30 shots advantage with Reuben Horneman scoring twice and four other Defenders each had a goal. Dordt went up 6-3 with a short handed goal by Zach Espenson and Isaiah Van Noord had 26 saves in goal.
