The Dordt Defender softball team came back from a 2-1 deficit to turn away the Grand View Vikings in Dordt's only game of the day at the American State Bank Sports Complex in Sioux Center with a 5-2 victory.

Grand View struck for two runs in the first inning on three hits but missed out an even bigger inning with a lineout to second to end the frame with two runners on.
Dordt got on the board the following half inning when
Lauren Steenstra homered and Dordt tied it in the top of the fourth when
Brooklynn Cox reached with when Grand View's outfield couldn't handle her deep fly and she reached third before a sacrifice fly by
Chloe Kreuz got her in. Steenstra then clubbed her second homerun of the game in the fifth to unlock the tie. Dordt added to the lead with two runs on three hits in the sixth inning with Kreuz singling in Cox who had singled and stole second and
Annabelle Hensley had a double to score Kreuz.
Kreuz got the win and allowed just two hits over the final six innings.
