A 6-0 run to end the first half gave Dordt a double-digit lead it never relinquished in beating Midland 86-64 on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.
Box Score (PDF)
Midland scored the first six points of the game before a
Luke Rankin three-point basket got Dordt on the board and
Ben Fairclough added two free throws and
Lucas Lorenzen the first of six three-point baskets for an 8-6 Dordt lead.
A
Jake Hargens basket near the midpoint of the half tied the game at 18 and
Jake Proctor followed with a three-point basket and Dordt never trailed again. At the 6:04 mark Dordt looked poised to run away with a 31-22 lead after another Lorenzen three but the Warriors closed to within 35-31 with 1:17 left in the half.  A Hargens three-point basket followed by a Hargens block set up the last possession of the half and
Bryce Coppock buried a three-point shot to extend the lead to 41-31.
Midland trimmed the lead to eight on two occasions in the early moments of the second half but a 12-0 run capped by Lorenzen's last three-point basket effectively put the game out of reach. Dordt's lead reached 30 before the hosts settled for the 86-64 win.

Midland is 10-15 overall and 5-12 in the GPAC.
