The Dordt baseball team was swept in Sioux Center by Midland on Friday afternoon, April 11 by 7-0 and 9-5 scores in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.

GAME 1
The Defenders were limited in game one and didn't get a hit as they surrendered one run in the first, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth. Dordt did have a chance to break through with an error and a hit batsman but came out with nothing. Midland's three runs in the sixth effectively put the game out of reach.

GAME 2
Dordt's rally in game two came up short as the Defenders twice had the tying run at the plate in the eighth and ninth innings but lost a 9-5 decision.
Midland scored two in the first as they capitalized on a pair of unearned runs and then added two more in the third for a 4-0 lead. Trailing 7-0, Dordt got a
Drew Oreskes single in the sixth inning to score
Logan Templeton and
Matthew McMillian and a
Joseph Schlesselman single made it 7-3.
Midland added a run in the seventh and Dordt stranded two in the home half of the frame. Dordt proceeded to score a run on
DJ Kerr's single and kept the bases loaded with no one out. A double play on the next at bat gave Midland breathing room and the Defenders had a runner tagged out at third base after a single to end the inning.
Midland got a run in the ninth and Dordt again loaded the bases but a fly out ended the inning and the game.
