Defenders Dominate Providence in 3-0 Home Victory

Dordt University men's soccer earned a decisive 3-0 victory over the University of Providence (Mont.) on Thursday evening, using a balanced attack and disciplined defense to secure the shutout under the lights at the Defender Soccer Complex.

The Defenders (2-1-1) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. During the 16th minute, Pablo Martin Domingo netted his first goal of the season off a crisp assist from Vincent Croney. Dordt continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, and their efforts were rewarded again in the 39th minute when Anton Forsch converted a penalty kick to double the lead.

Tate Hansen added Dordt's third and final goal in the 59th minute, also from the penalty spot, as the Defenders capitalized on a pair of fouls inside the box. Dordt's offense was relentless, registering 18 total shots with 11 on frame, while the defense held Providence to just three shots and two on goal.

Goalkeepers Shadrach Jaeger and JD Petitt combined for the clean sheet, each recording a save in the win.
