(Thursday, January 15; Sioux Center, Iowa) The latest NAIA Women's Basketball Top-25 Poll has been released and the Dordt Defenders moved back into the no. 1 slot after dropping to no. 2 in the previous voting.
NAIA Release
The Defenders are 17-1 overall and 11-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference after a 74-61 win over Morningside on Wednesday night, January 14. Dordt has won nine games in a row since absorbing a 73-68 overtime loss to Doane on December 6. The Defenders took nine first-place votes and Bethel (Tenn.) took six first-place votes. There are 11 teams in the top-25 with one loss and three other GPAC teams (Dakota Wesleyan, Concordia and Briar Cliff) are in the top-25. Hastings is also receiving votes in the polling.
Dordt is scheduled to host Doane on Saturday, January 17 at 2pm and will have a break from GPAC action until it travels to Concordia on Saturday, January 24.
