Men’s Track and Field Qualifies 4×800 Relay for Nationals, Den Hartog Sets School Record at Mount Marty Open

The Dordt University men's track and field team delivered a breakthrough weekend at the Mount Marty Open, held at the Ruth Donohue Fieldhouse, as the Defenders qualified their 4×800-meter relay for the NAIA National Championships and saw Willem Den Hartog shatter the school record in the pole vault.

Notes: 

  • the Defenders showcased their depth in the middle distance races with a total of seven top five finishes in the 400m and 600m
  • Dordt's pole vaulters turned in a great showing with four among the top five finishers
  • the Defenders won both relays

  • Willem Den Hartog highlighted the field events by clearing 4.65 meters (15-03) in the pole vault, setting a new Dordt school record. His mark eclipsed the previous record of 15-01, set by Brett Huff in 2015, and now stands as the top performance in program history.
